Castledykes Park. After slaying his rival for the Scottish Crown in Greyfriars Monastery, Robert the Bruce realised that he hade made a political error by killing a man in sanctuary.
With little options now open to him he road the short distance to Dumfries Castle (shown as it appears today) and burned it to the ground declaring himself King. He then rode to Edinburgh to have this confirmed thus beginning a new chapter in Scotland's turbulent history.
