About Me - David Morrison

About Me

David Morrison is a photographer living and working in the South West of Scotland.

David was given his first camera, a box brownie, by his father who was an keen railway photographer in the days of Standard 8 movie cameras. Some of David's earliest memories are of taking photographs of the steam trains on the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway. A project he has returned to in more recent times.

A lifelong interest in sport has led to David's recent photographic involvement with the Solway Sharks Ice Hockey Club which has seen him photographing games throughout Scotland and the North East of England. David's recent ice hockey photographs can be seen in the local press and on the Sharks' website www.solwaysharks.co.uk as well as in magazines such as Powerplay and various other print and internet sources.

After living in the West of the region and then in Dublin for six years David returned to Dumfries in 2000 and completed a degree in Scottish Studies at Glasgow University's Crichton Campus. Since 2004 he spent nine summers as the head attendant at the Old Bridge House Museum and is now a carer for his parents.
